Hypnosis does help smokers kick the habit. However, smokers who think hypnosis is a cure all and they will wake up the next morning not craving a cigarette will be sadly disappointed. Quitting smoking is one of the hardest things a person can do. Hypnosis will not make you stop smoking, but it helps in your journey to quit.

Many smokers have tried multiple times to quit. We have all heard stories about the man who smoked for fifty years and then quit cold turkey. It happens. Generally though, it takes more than once try and it takes more than one way of trying before a person finally kicks the habit.

Hypnosis helps for quitting smoking by helping you fight the anxiety of wanting another cigarette.

Scientific studies have shown that you are more likely to quit smoking and not start again by 60% through hypnosis. Hypnosis can help you modify your behavior in ways that will help you quit smoking. What if every time you reached for a cigarette you started sneezing for a full minute? The initial craving would pass and you would be able to distract yourself by doing something else. What if every time you lit a cigarette and took a drag, it tasted like rotten eggs. After doing this a few times, you would not light a cigarette.

Using hypnosis for things like this, in addition to the nicotine patch or gum can help you quit smoking. Waking up and brushing your teeth immediately or going for a walk instead of lighting the first cigarette of the day will help you stop smoking. Hypnosis helps inner motivation by suggesting these things as better alternatives. You are essentially, listening to your own desire to quit smoking every time you do something other than smoke- through hypnosis.

Hypnosis does help people stop smoking. Keep in mind though, as a smoker, you have to want to quit. Nothing will help you if you do not want to stop in the first place. Also know one session of hypnosis may be enough to help quit or it may take more than one try.
